Constructing and expressing acyl-homoserine lactone lactonase (aiiA) gene for enhancing Solanum tuberosum resistance against soft rot disease. Biodiversitas 23: 1780-1787. Expression of the genes associated with pectinase production in disease Dickeya spp. are regulated by quorum sensing mechanism using acyl homoserine lactone(AHL). Degradation AHL can be developed to reduce Dickeyaspp. The aiiA encodes from Bacillus This study aims construct binary vector inserted (pCAB10) cereus B10 express potato Medians cultivar genome. The aiiAgene was cloned into transformed Agrobacterium tumefaciens LB4404. Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation conducted co-cultivation technique. The transgenic plant confirmed through PCR andselected kanamycin dadantii A3. result showed that successfully integrated top CAB10 introduced A. percentage pCAB10 57.6%, while there generation efficiency 11.9% 50 mg/L acetosyringone addition. Four exhibited significantly higher than non-transgenic plants. Mahl1 clone had highest incidence as 7.1% suppression 92.85%.

Thermoregulation of N-acyl homoserine lactone-based quorum sensing in the soft rot bacterium Pectobacterium atrosepticum.

The psychrotolerant bacterium Pectobacterium atrosepticum produces four N-acyl homoserine lactones under a wide range of temperatures. Their thermoregulation differs from that of the exoenzyme production, described as being under quorum-sensing control. A mechanism involved in this thermoregulation consists of controlling N-acyl homoserine lactones synthase production at a transcriptional level.

Genomic Analysis Reveals Versatile Organisms for Quorum Quenching Enzymes: Acyl-Homoserine Lactone-Acylase and -Lactonase

Microbial virulence and their resistance to multiple drugs have obliged researchers to look for novel drug targets. Virulence of pathogenic microbes is regulated by signal molecules such as acylated homoserine lactone (AHL) produced during a cell density dependent phenomenon of quorum sensing (QS). In contrast, certain microbes produce AHL-lactonases and -acylases to degrade QS signals, also te...

Salmonella SdiA recognizes N-acyl homoserine lactone signals from Pectobacterium carotovorum in vitro, but not in a bacterial soft rot.

Genomes of Salmonella enterica isolates, including those linked to outbreaks of produce-associated gastroenteritis, contain sdiA, which encodes a receptor of N-acyl homoserine lactones (AHL). AHL are the quorum-sensing signals used by bacteria to coordinately regulate gene expression within -their populations. Because S. enterica does not produce its own AHL, SdiA is hypothesized to function in...

Acyl homoserine-lactone quorum-sensing signal generation.

Acyl homoserine lactones (acyl-HSLs) are important intercellular signaling molecules used by many bacteria to monitor their population density in quorum-sensing control of gene expression. These signals are synthesized by members of the LuxI family of proteins. To understand the mechanism of acyl-HSL synthesis we have purified the Pseudomonas aeruginosa RhlI protein and analyzed the kinetics of...

Constitutive and Secretory Expression of the AiiA in Pichia pastoris Inhibits Amorphophallus konjac Soft Rot Disease

Amorphophallus konjac is an important economic crop widely cultivated in Southeast Asia and Africa. However, A. konjac is seriously infected by soft rot pathogen. The endocellular acyl homoserine lactonase (AiiA) which is generated by Bacillus species has inhibitory effect on soft rot pathogen through disrupting the signal molecules (N-acylhomoserine lactones, AHL) of their Quorum Sensing syste...
